WALK FOR LIFE WALK-A-THON XIV
SUPPORT APPRECIATED
On behalf of LPFCC, those unprepared for pregnancy, those struggling to heal from abortion, those facing decisions about abstinence, and pre born children around the world, thank you to all who supported us in the 2002 "Walk For Life Walk-A-Thon."  There were 234 walkers representing 41 churches who brought in a total of over $12,000 in donations.  There were 37 "Walk Volunteers" who helped keep walkers safe and cared for on "Walk Day."

The Lapeer Sunrise Kiwanis Club contributed funds to purchase gift certificates for our 18 prize winners - the walkers who contributed the six highest donations in three categories:

ADULT:  Frank Borgelt, Dana Clark, Charles & Nancy Herpolsheimer, Fritz & Renate Kopp, Julie Shepard, Ben Stahl.
TEEN:  Luke Clayton, Jonathan Cory, Kala Cowell, Rebecca DeSimpelare, Shanna John, Andrea Trombley.

LPFCC  PARTICIPATED IN LAPEER DAYS PARADE
A special thank you to all who made the Lapeer Days Parade and Float a success.  We had nine families accompany the float in the parade.  There were 17 adults and 42 children for a total of 59 people walking in the parade.  We had 16 people (13 teens and 3 adults) who distributed 1,000 flyers for an hour before the parade started.  Every LPFCC representative wore a bright fluorescent green T-shirt advertising the upcoming Walk For Life Walk-A-Thon.  We were pleased and thankful for the contribution of time and energy these folks gave to help present the Lapeer Pregnancy & Family Care Center to the community.

The 2002 Lapeer Days parade project was chaired by Board member Ed Carlson.  Ed was assisted by Michelle Severns in planning the LPFCC participation. Board member Chuck Herpolsheimer donated the use of his hay wagon for the float, and Board member Howard Lilley drove the truck borrowed from Forum Ford-Lapeer.

ANNUAL BANQUET 2003

THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 2003 is the date chosen for the 12th Annual LPFCC Banquet.  Those who attended the 2002 Banquet and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere of that event will be pleased to know that the Dryden Wesleyan Church, 527 Main Street, Dryden, is extending the use of its Multi-purpose Room for the 2003 Banquet.  We are looking forward to another exciting and inspirational evening of celebration of what God is doing at the Center and what we are looking to Him to accomplish in the future.

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend this informational and encouraging event.

BABY BOTTLE FUNDRAISER
When LPFCC counts its blessings, we count the churches, pastors and congregations that have aided us in many different ways.  Last spring, an appeal went out to the churches to join the Baby Bottle Fund-raiser ... which began on Mother's Day and ended on Father's Day.  During that six week period, most of the $14,026.95 netted from that fund-raiser was raised.  And that help came at just the right time.  While other charities and ministries faltered through the summer of 2002, we were able to remain "in the black".  We praise God for His abundant mercies to LPFCC and for supplying our needs through the donations of God's people.  Thank you to the churches, pastors and congregations, along with other supporters, who entered into this campaign.

What do clients say?
Clients are saying these things about LPFCC services:

  • "The information and video really helped me see how babies develop."
  • "My overall experience with LPFCC was positive.  I received a lot of helpful information."
  • "Everyone is very friendly."
  • "It was a great experience to come to LPFCC."
  • "The best thing about LPFCC is the friendliness, and the information is good."
  • "I felt like I was treated like an equal.  I was not looked down upon because of my condition."
  • "I was treated with respect."

Christmas Card winner is Connie Desimpelare
Look for Connie's design on the 2002 Christmas Card greeting from LPFCC.  You will see then how her project represents the mission and vision of LPFCC.

The LPFCC Staff and Christmas Card Committee would like to thank all of the artists who participated in this contest.  These talented friends of the Center gave of their time and talent to submit designs to be considered by the Committee.
